Obituary of Luther Bowles

Luther (Lootie) Bowles Jr., of Roanoke, passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2012, at the age of 83, in the presence of his loving wife of 56 years, Pat Bowles. He was an Army veteran and the owner of Acme Printing Company. Lootie loved his family, weekends at the lake, annual beach trips with friends, and watching the Red Sox play.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters and two brothers. He is survived by his sisters, Sally Eller and Gloria Cundiff; and brother, Butch Bowles.
Left to cherish his memory are his three sons and their wives, Mark and Bonnie, Chris and Kelly, and Michael Jay Bowles; grandchildren, Matthew, Sarah, Harrison, Mackenzie and Ian Bowles, Alex Peters, and Sidney Jones; great-grandson, Mason Peters; and special family friend, Sally Woodson-Spigle.

Please join family and friends for a celebration of Lootie's life at noon on Thursday, October 18, 2012, at Grace United Methodist Church, 4404 Williamson Road. In lieu of flowers, we ask donations be made to Grace United Methodist Church. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home, 540-366-0707.
