Lillian Sprinkle Stanley, 81, of Roanoke passed away Monday, October 15, 2012. A retiree from Eli Lilly with over 25 years of service, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Roy R. Stanley. Lillian is survived by her three daughters: Linda (Dicky) Trent of Roanoke; Brenda (Michael) Saunders of Salem; and Debbie (Michael) Arnold of Roanoke. She also had five grandchildren: Willie (Becky) Trent of Troutville; Major Robert (Nicole) Trent of Fort Bragg, NC; Phillip (Carol) Saunders of West Union, WV; Chris Saunders of Roanoke; and Michelle Arnold of Roanoke. In addition, six great-grandchildren: J.W. and Samantha Trent of Troutville; Mark Saunders of West Union, WV; US Army Spec Maria Saunders presently stationed in Kuwait; and Alex and Lindsey Trent of Fort Bragg, NC. She is also survived by her sister Nora (Corky) Rothrock of Roanoke and special friends, Ducky and Billie Jean Saul. The family would like to thank the staff of 4 Main at Friendship Health and Rehab, especially Torre and Dawn (thanks for all of the ice cream). There will be no visitation, however graveside services will be held at 11:00a.m. Friday, October 19, 2012 at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park with Pastor Ricardo Rodriguez officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a favorite charity. Friends may send their condolences to the family at www.simpsonfuneral.com.
