Lurty "Buddy" Taylor, II, 70 of Vinton died Thursday, October 4, 2012. He was preceded by his parents, Lurty and Adele Taylor, and a brother, Timothy Taylor.
Buddy retired from Virginia Department of Transportation Engineering Department. He was a true fan of the Virginia Tech Hokies and dedicated his time and giving to the Hokies.
Surviving are his loving wife and best friend, Ann Taylor; step son, Ricky Patton and his wife, Gina of Pulaski; cousins, Nancy and Bill Cress, Nancy Jane, Charles Jones and Jim Scruggs; sisters and brother-in-law, Doris and Jim Reynolds of Dublin; Darlene and Bobby Hopkins of Hilton Head, S.C; Juanita and Elbert Whitt of Chattanooga, TN; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
The family has requested a private service and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made the Cancer Society of your choice in Buddy's name. Friends may send their condolences to the family at www.simpsonfuneral.com. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home and Crematory, 366-0707.
