Obituary of David Allen Blevins

David A. Blevins, 67, of New Castle went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, June 9, 2018.  He was preceded by his parents, Geraldine and Benjamin Blevins.

 

David retired as a Captain with the Roanoke City Sheriff’s Office.  He was a member and Deacon at Forks of Johns Creek Christian Church and  also a member of the Fraternal Order of Police.

 

Surviving are his wife of 27 years, Anita Darlene Blevins; sons, David Blevins, II and wife Traci, Daniel Blevins and wife Chasidy; nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren; brothers, Richard Blevins and wife Nancy, and Kenneth Blevins; sister, Shirley Blevins; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

 

Funeral services will be conducted Noon Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Forks of Johns Creek Christian Church 84 Dicks Creek Road New Castle, VA.  Bill Frazier, minister will officiate.  Interment will follow in Level Green Christian Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Simpson Funeral Home and at the church one hour prior to the service.  Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road.  366-0707
